Dog Care Support for Seniors - in-home dog care supports for older adults with basic dog care include

  • assistance with obtaining food (deliver, pickup)
  • feeding, minor grooming (nail clipping, brushing)
  • transportation (veterinarian, groomer)
  • temporary care (owner hospitalization)
  • exercising and light hygiene tasks

Rehoming - new homes for older dogs due to disruption, illness, relocation or death of owner

Long-term and Perpetuity Care - pre-planned long-term care in an approved home

Education - public education about the role of dogs in seniors' lives and the importance of the animal-human bond

Eligibility
Older adults who require assistance with daily dog care due to health or mobility
Older dogs in need of a new home
Residency Requirements: West Toronto: Steeles Ave W (north) to Lake Ontario (south), and Hwy 427 (west) to Yonge Street (east)
