  • information about the public libraries, health care, public transportation systems, opening a bank account
  • referral to free tax clinics
  • Commissioner of Oaths services (affidavits, declaration, certified true copies)
Education -- information
  • referral to YMCA Language Assessment Centre for ESL/LINC classes or to other ESL/LINC/English conversation circle programs, International Academic Credential Assessment ECA
  • about public school system
Employment
  • assistance building resumes and cover letters
  • information about license for international trained professionals, the labour market in Ontario, how to use job banks, online job tools, etc.
  • referral to specific employment programs (Second Career, Job Connect, etc.)
Forms (Not Related To Immigration/Refugee) -- assistance
  • for Canada Child Benefit (CCB), Canada Pension Plan (CPP) retirement pension, Old Age Security (OAS) pension and Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS), birth, marriage and death certificates, Canadian Passport or travel documents for protected persons, etc.
Financial -- information or application assistance
  • for Ontario Works (welfare), Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP), Legal Aid Ontario
Housing -- information or application assistance
  • about market rent, connecting with emergency shelters and information or referral to the Transitional Housing program or applying to subsidized housing
  • information or applying to the Ontario Electricity Support Program (OESP), and Low-income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP)
Spiritual support
  • chaplaincy at Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada, Immigration Holding Centre
  • referral to The Salvation Army churches and/or other religious organization for spiritual support
