- COVID19 -- Child Care Fee Subsidy Application reopened. Following the Government of Ontario's announcement, child care centres and home care providers across Ontario are able to reopen with strict safety requirements as of June 12, 2020. Families can apply for Child Care Fee Subsidy on website effective immediately
Helps make child care more affordable for families with low and moderate incomes, reducing the amount of money that families have to pay licensed child care providers for children under the age of 13 * daily child care cost for a family receiving fee subsidies is calculated and finalized at intake interview, based on net family income, the age of the children and the number of days of care - Eligibility
- Eligibility is determined using a provincial income test and the following criteria * priority is given to families with a net income of $36,000 or less, and families who may be experiencing exceptional circumstances * waiting list, first-come, first-served * families (single or two parents/caregivers) must:
• reside in York Region
• have children under the age of 13
• be legally entitled to seek employment or attend school in Canada
• have an assessed financial need (determined at the intake interview)
• file income tax returns every year
• be unable to care for their children during the day because they are either employed, enrolled in an educational or training program, or in a situation where a family is experiencing exceptional circumstances - Application Process
